Not an ordinary story
Built in the early 1960s, it welcomed the faithful for many years until the day when worship was rarely celebrated.
Significant work done in recent years has redeveloped it into an elegant and intimate cultural space.
A singular bell tower
Blessed in 1961 by Monsignor Tourel, the “Notre-Dame-de-la-Route” chapel was financed by a subscription raised by Father Paul Bruniquel, parish priest.
Of unique architecture, with a pretty sundial on the forecourt, the chapel, of rounded shapes, opens onto a square where a statue stands, Madonna and Child!
The gaze is very quickly drawn to the curious bell tower.
